Facebook has introduced a standalone app that allows event seekers to keep up with nearby events and finding things to do with their friends. Whether one is looking for something to attend this weekend or just wondering what is happening in your area, events app will help get one there, the social media giant said.

"Every day, more than 100 million people use Facebook events to discover things they can do with their friends -- from festivals to neighborhood fairs and nightlife," Facebook Product Manager AdityaKoolwal said in a statement on Friday. Events is available in the App Store for iPhone users in the US and is coming soon to Android, the company said.
