The BMC has passed a proposal that has made Surya Namaskar (sun salutation) mandatory in civic schools in Mumbai. The proposal was tabled in the House by BJP corporator Samita Kamble. However, the move drew flak from the Opposition, with the Samajwadi Party calling it a way to promote Hindutva.
