Bhatti demands aid for cotton, mirchi farmers
Errupalem (Khammam): Stating that the cotton farmers have lost a lot due to continuous rains, TPCC working president Bhatti Vikramarka has demanded that the State government provide immediate compensation to the farmers.
Bhatti inspected the damaged cotton fields in Meenavolu and Banigandlapadu villages under Errupalem mandal in his constituency Madhira here on Wednesday. Speaking to the media later, Bhatti said the farmers have lost a lot due to spurious seeds. The chilly crop had not even ‘pootha’ and ‘kaatha’ and now the farmers have lost their crop due to heavy rains. He asked the government to see that compensation reached the farmers at the earliest by sending officials to asses the crop loss.
Demanding that the State government initiate action against Agriculture Minister and the officials, who supervised the seed packets distribution by the companies to the farmers, Bhatti wondered how the Chief Minister would announce that all were happy at a time when the farmers were bemoaning crop loss.
