The SR Nagar police on Sunday arrested one cat burglar and recovered nine laptops and four cell phones, all worth Rs 2,10,000, from his possession. The accused was identified as Kota Vijayakrishna alias Vijay and Babji, 24, residing in Kartikeya Hostel behind SR Nagar Police Station, and native of Kopperapalem under Ballikurava mandal in Prakasam district in Andhra Pradesh. Police said the accused was an educated unemployed.

He came to Hyderabad and hatched a plan to commit thefts for making a fast buck. He stayed in various hostels for a few days. His modus operandi was to commit theft of laptops and cell phones of other inmates of hostels when they left their rooms for lunch, dinner and to attend computer classes. He used to join other hostels and commit similar thefts. The accused was identified with the help of CCTV footage and was caught at Kruthunga Hostel.
