Kerala bags first position
South India athletics competitions
Competitions were held in 168 sports and games for 14, 16, 18 and 20 age groups separately. Kerala bagged 52 gold, 40 silver and 28 bronze medals. Tamil Nadu stood in the second position with a total tally of 101 medals including 30 gold, 34 silver and 37 bronze. The hosting State Telangana bagged 42 medal including 17 gold, 10 silver and 15 bronze medals while the other Telugu State Andhra Pradesh satisfied with just 28 medals, 8 gold, 7 silver and 13 bronze while Karnataka won 59 including 11 gold, 25 silver and 23 bronze.
Among UTs Pondicherry satisfied with just 3 Andaman – Nicobar and Lakshadweep draw a blank. Telangana Athletes Association under the leadership of its secretary Nandelli Mahipal. Collector Neetu Prasad, KIMS education institutes chairman Ravindar Rao and T. Santosh Kumar attended the valedictory function and presented medals to winner.
