NDRF rescues fishermen
National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) team rescued two fishermen who were trapped in the Godavari after 22 hours on Monday. Dharmaji Rajesh (28), Kunarapu Santosh (30) and others went for fishing downstream of Yellampalli reservoir on Sunday evening. According to the police, while other members of the group managed to return safely to the banks of the Godavari after gauging the velocity of the currents, Rajesh and Santosh were washed away in the swirling waters.
On receiving information on Monday morning, Adilabad District Collector Jagan Mohan and Ramagundam ASP Vishnu Warrior reached the spot and informed the rescue team. The NDRF team rescued Rajesh and Santosh with the help of a special boat. The villagers thanked the NDRF team for their swift action.
