Hyderabad: A nationwide campaign to save internet telephony has been launched by Bhavin Turakhia, Co-founder and CEO, Directi with the support of iSpirit. The objective of the campaign titled 'Free Your Voice' is to encourage fair laws and enable the launch of internet telephony permanently. Free Your Voice counters the stand taken by several incumbent players in their response to TRAI's consultation paper. Commenting on the issue, Bhavin Turakhia said that internet telephony is under threat from major telecom players. Incumbent providers like Vodafone, Airtel, Idea etc., are reluctant to reduce costs and drive innovation. Sudhir Singh, Fellow, iSpirit, that leaving internet telephony only to the incumbents will not be in the interest of the consumer.
