SC to intervene the killer Vyapam scam
The Supreme Court will hear the petitions that are seeking probe by Central Bureau of Investigation on the murkiest Vyapam scam on July 9. The scam of Madhya Pradesh has been taking gloomy turns each day. Over 40 people, who were related to the case, have died till date.
The decision came in after four petitions were filed before the apex court. The petitions are inclusive of the ones that were filed by Digvijay Singh and whistleblower of the scam, Anand Rai.
Senior Advocate Vivek Tankha said, “All cases connected to Vyapam will be heard on July 9. There are four petitions related to Vyapam in the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court needs to intervene for the trail of deaths to stop.
The Congress called the move of the apex court as beginning of justice. Congress leader Tom Vadakkan said, “The investigative arms reporting to the High Court are reporting to the Chief Minister, their hands are tied. We demand justice for those who died.” The Congress has been demanding a CBI probe in the matter and further said that they do not trust the government of Madhya Pradesh.
