Heavy rush at Bhadrakali temple
Guru Purnima was on Tuesday celebrated on a grand way across the Warangal district with devotees thronging historic Bhadrakali temple in Warangal and Saibaba temple at Jangaon, Mahabubabad and Hanamkonda. On the occasion, the temples were decorated with lights and leafy vegetables.
The deity of Goddess Bhadrakali was decorated with all leafs and vegetables in “shakhambhari avatar”. The Shakhambhari celebrations began on July 5 in view of the Ashadam.
Temple priests performed special rituals and decorated the Goddess in as many as 13 special appearances. In view of the Ashada Shuddha Pournami (full-moon day) known as Guru Purnima, the Goddess Bhadrakali has appeared for devotees as Shakhambhari. Thousands of devotees had darshan of the Goddess. Temple Executive Officer K Anjani Devi, Chief priest Bhadrakali Sheshu were made elaborate arrangements for devotees.
Warangal West MLA Dasyam Vinaya Bhaskar couple offered special prayers at the temple. Apart from police and revenue officials, volunteers of various NGOs helped smooth flow of pilgrims. Hundreds of devotees thronged the temple with which the queue lines witnessed heavy rush. The temple was kept opened for darshan till midnight. Guru Purnima was also celebrated in Saibaba temples across the district and devotees offered prayers.
