VHP presents awards top Ganesh pandals
Unity is the strength of national power and our festivals develop communal harmony across the nation, said G Sudheer Babu, Police Commissioner of Warangal, on Tuesday. The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) held an awards presentation programme at Vishnupriya Garden in Hanamkonda town. On the occasion, Sudheer Babu said people should maintain integrity and discipline for the welfare of society. The VHP has announced best Vinayaka idols after inspecting the pandals in the tri-cities – Warangal, Hanamkonda and Kazipet.
The first prize was bagged by Saraswathi Nagar Gajanan Mandali at Gopalpur of Hanamkonda, second prize went to Vasavi Gajanan Mandali, Shivanagar of Warangal, and third prize was given to Advocates Colony Ganesh Mandali, Ekashila Ganajana Mandali at Hanamkonda and Srinagar Colony at Hanamkonda. Besides, 33 consolation prizes were given for the encouragement of devotional activities in the district.
VHP president Chada Sunil Reddy, secretary Katta Ramesh and Kandi Srinivas Reddy said they were conducting the celebrations for the past 37 years with Dr Vishwanatha Rao, Prof Panduranga Rao and senior citizens as judges. Prof (retd) A Ram Reddy, V Nivedita and Suryanarayana from Sri Sai Prakash Flat Owners’ Welfare Association members received best award from the Police Commissioner.
