SBI approves merger with its associate banks

The SBI on Thursday approved the merger with its associate banks, creating an asset base of Rs 37 lakh crore, subject to an approval of RBI and the Indian government. The associate banks include State Bank of Mysore, State Bank of Bikaner and Jaipur, and Bharatiya Mahila Bank Limited. Earlier, SBI chairperson had said the merger will cost no job losses.
