5K Run raises Rs 2.2 lakh

Over Rs 2.2 lakh has been raised during the Startup 5K Run organised by the Hyderabad chapter of Startup Leadership Program (SLP) in Hyderabad on Sunday. The event is organised to raise awareness and funds to improve the environment for girls’ education. The Run was flagged off by Jaahnavi, the youngest Indian female to summit Mt Everest.
More than 250 people participated in this run. All the funds raised were donated to three NGOs Kishore Vikas, Kasturbah and Aman Vedika, at the end of the run by prominent athlete Kiran Kanoji. SLP Hyderabad’s program lead Subbaraju Pericharla said, “Our message of healthy philanthropy and startup networking has worked very well and we are very happy to see startups respond positively to the cause.”
