Now plot your friends on Google with the new chrome extension. An Indian-American student has created a chrome extension that gets the location data of your friend from the Facebook messenger and points the location on the map.

Every one of us knows that Facebook shares your location with friends but any of us don’t know how easy it is to extract the data.

A Cambridge student developer Aran Khanna has created an extension called ‘Marauder's Map’ with which you can plot the travel of your friends around the country with almost exact locations.

The tool loads the map in Messenger’s web interface and gets data from the messages sent with location sharing enabled which is now a default option in the iOS and Android apps.

The latitude and longitude details that are attached to the messages are taken from the JavaScript objects that the browsers store.

While installing the Facebook messenger app, it asks the user to enable location sharing and is a default property.
