Guess who the latest highlight on Twitter is; it’s none other than US president Barack Obama.

"Dad, husband, and 44th President of the United States." This was the first message posted by Obama on his personal Twitter handle.

The first post from @POTUS Twitter handle on Monday has a greeting ""Hello, Twitter! It's Barack. Really!” according to NYT.

There was a huge response from people through the micro-blogging site, with more than 1 million people signing up Twitter to follow the president’s presence.

It is still unknown that which device will be used by Obama to post messages on Twitter, because though the first message was sent from an iPhone, it is expected that he will use Blackberry due to security issues.

According to a Blog post of White House, the new Twitter account would contain featured Tweets that are exclusively made by president @POTUS for now.

A @BarackObama twitter handle that was started in 2007 has 60 million followers and was operated as a part of Obama’s former campaign, while @WhiteHouse handle handles massive communication for official missives and has 6.1 million followers.
