On Wednesday the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemists (IUPAC) announced that four elements on the periodic table shall get new names.

Elements 113, 115, 117 and 118 are proposed to be named-nihonium, moscovium, tennessine and oganesson respectively. However, these are not the final names of these highly radioactive elements.

These names are available for public review and the public has time till November to register its complaints with IUPAC. However, only IUPAC shall have the final say over the issue.
