Delhi’s trains and stations will soon be covered by Wi-Fi web.

The union minister of state for Urban Development Babul Supriyo said on Wednesday that the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) plans to provide WiFi facility aboard its trains as well as in stations.

He stated while replying to a question in Lok Sabha that DMRC has informed the ministry that it is planning to make available WiFi in metro trains.

He also said that the stations on the new line like Mukundpur-Shiv Vihar line and Janakpuri West-Kalindi Kunj line will also avail this facility.

The DMRC has invited proposals from the Telecom operators for providing WiFi, he added.

"The DMRC has floated a tender to explore the possibility of providing WiFi facility for their existing metro rail network. The tender envisages total investment and operational expenditure by the WiFi system provider," he said.
