EE, which has been planning to provide its customers with Wi-Fi calling feature since last summer, is finally ready for it’s launch. The firm is planning to unveil the feature, which will be compatible with most of the handsets, on April 10.

Users need not download or install any app to make calls or messages over the Wi-Fi and can normally use the dialer and messaging app, with a monthly subscription.

Vodafone recently announced that it is working on a Wi-Fi calling system for its users. EE had launched voice over LTE services, enabling transmission of calls over Wi-Fi and 4G networks without dropping, last summer.

The no app feature has some limitations such as the service would be only available on the handsets that are provided by the EE company. The carrier in the handset updates data and enables Wi-Fi calling.

Currently, the EE supports Android and Windows platform and is available on the new Microsoft's Lumia 640.
