It is better to be alone than in bad company. - George Washington

I am worried about the new generation which lives in the virtual world. Youngsters today have no real interaction with their elders, juniors or even friends for that matter. Life is outside the house, not inside a gadget. Beauty is in Mother Nature, not in online games. These electronic gadgets were made to save our time, not waste our time. How will the young generation learn anything about life without going out of the house and without any real experiences?

I see that the new generation is not concerned about society, surroundings and the world. They are absorbed in their own virtual world of cartoons, games and online friendships. Even these games and cartoons that they are addicted to are violent and promote only evil ideas. Their behaviour has become aggressive; they get angry at the slightest of provocation. It is very easy for the new generation to learn about the worst things in the world since everything is available through the Internet now. Youth and parents need to make an effort to change this sad trend.

Recently, I saw an advertisement which said that many of us are developing a deficiency of Vitamin D and that the solution is to take a pill. Instead of going out in the sun to provide the body with Vitamin D, should we depend on pills that always come with side-effects? It is sad that this has become the new ‘normal’. It is important to change our thinking – Swachh Soch, Swachh Bol is my appeal to all youngsters; all good actions begin with good thoughts.
