New Delhi: First Indian women shuttler to attain world number one ranking, Saina Nehwal won her maiden India Open Super Series title defeating Ratchanok Intanon of Thailand.
The London Olympic bronze medalist played like a champion to get better off Intanon and clinched the title with 21-16 21-14 scores.

Coming into the match with a 5-3 overall advantage over her adversary, Saina was not verified much as the Indian was prepared for Intanon's misleading game. She dominated her opponent with her better movements and precise smashes to ultimately gain her second title of the season.

The young lady from Hyderabad, who has been having a fantastic luck following the time when her victory at the China Open, played like a titleholder as she expected her opponent moves and got her in an undesirable manner amid rallies.

Intanon, seeded third, appeared to be influenced by her marathon semifinal round against Carolina Marin of Spain which went on for around one and a half hour yesterday.

The energy-sapping battle appeared to have made her movements moderate on the court as she battled with her returns.
