Kapur on the roll
Shiv Kapur staged a brilliant game making a way through the International Sectional Qualifiers, grabbing a spot in US Open for the second year at Walton Health in Surrey on Tuesday.
Kapur, playing two rounds on the same day, totalled 10-under 134 was one better than medallist Alexander Levy of France, who earned his debut appearance at the US Open. He shot 67-67 in the two rounds.
Finishing two shots away from getting into play-off, Jeev Milkha Singh, however missed out. Jeev carded 69 and 72. A total of 11 spots were available from the qualifiers, where 82 players started off.
