With all hopes crashing down for Chennai Super Kings in the IPL at the Eden Gardens, M S Dhoni has rued lack of individual match winning efforts and said that the team was unable to reach its potential.

Speaking in Kolkata on Sunday, Dhoni also referred about the second over bowled by Mohit Sharma to be a major factor wherein Chennai Super Kings forfeited the game to Mumbai Indians who won the match by 41 runs to lift their second IPL crown.

"The kind of momentum they built on from that point of the game, we were not really able to come back into the game," said the ace cricketer, Dhoni.

Dhoni also regretted his side's inability to get off to a flying start while chasing the challenging total.

He stated that as a team they have collectively performed well, but a few players did not reach their efficiency to the maximum.

"The overall performance of CSK was good, but we need to go back to the drawing board and see which are the areas where we need to further improve, so that we can win the IPL," added Dhoni.
