Bringing glory to the nation, Ludhiana pugilist Mandeep Kaur Sandhu won gold in the 52 kg category on Saturday at the World Junior Boxing Championship (women), being held in Taipei. Indian boxers returned with 7 medals, which included three gold, one silver and two bronze medals in it.
Hailing from Chakkar village, the 15-year-old Mandeep whitewashed Irish boxer Niamh Earley in the final by a registering 3-0 margin. Throughout the championship, Mandeep conquered her category and registered some emphatic victories.
