Dada dons mentor's cap
Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) chief Jagmohan Dalmiya will elect former skipper of Indian national team Sourav Ganguly as one of the mentors of the board shortly.
“Ganguly could be appointed as one of the advisers,” Dalmiya stated in an interview with a leading English news channel.
Along with Ganguly, Sachin Tendulkar and Ravi Shastri are also likely to be appointed as BCCI advisers, sources said. They will direct the BCCI on all matters related to cricket.
Dalmiya said that he will approach BCCI secretary Anurag Thakur in Kolkata soon to decide the final decision. The final announcement will be made after the meeting. He said the decision on Ganguly will be taken soon.
The name of Ganguly was doing the rounds as a possible candidate to replace Duncan Fletcher as India's coach. But now the board will have to look for a fresh face to take over the reign of Indian cricket.
