Indian chess Grandmaster Viswanathan Anand was held to a draw by Netherland's Vladimir Kramnik in the fourth round of Shamkir Chess 2015, conducted in the memory of Grandmaster Vugar Gashimov.
This fourth straight draw, which was surprising, dented Anand's chances in the strongest tournament of the year. In order to come closer to the leading group, Anand will need some victories in the remaining five rounds.
Filipino chess Grandmaster Wesley continued with his wild act in the tournament and set his third victory from four games, at the expense of lowest ranked Rauf Mamedov of Azerbaijan.
Wesley scored an astounding 3.5 points out of a possible four and is now trailed by world champion Magnus Carlsen, who moved to three points following a draw with Michael Adams.
