Navi Mumbai residents to get six new indoor recreational centres

Senior citizens and children will have one more reason to cheer as Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation will build six new recreational centres across the satellite city. City’s mayor Sagar Naik laid the foundation stone of the first recreation at Annasaheb Patil garden in Nerul’s sector 10. 

Sagar Naik, while laying the foundation, said, "We already have 11 recreational centres across the city. NMMC will build six more such centres for the citizens that will have a Television set apart from indoor games like carom and chess. It will also be stocked with newspapers.” The corporation will spend Rs 18 lakh on the recreational centre in Nerul, which will also have a hall and washroom especially for senior citizens. 

SR Pawar, executive engineer for playgrounds, NMMC, said, "Work on the recreational centres at Nerul’s sector 11 and sector 44 A is complete. Apart from that there will be similar centre in Turbhe, three at Vashi and one each at Sanpada and Airoli.”
