SIAM report: Car sales in India rose to 18.14 %
The recent data report from Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) revealed that care sales in India for the period of April’15 rose to 18.14 per cent.
According to the data, domestic passenger car sales stood at 1, 59,548 units in April’15 when compared to 1, 35,054 in April’14.
The total production of all vehicles including commercial vehicles, passenger vehicles, two wheeler and three wheeler registered 2.55 per cent of marginal growth in April’15 when compared to same period last year.
The overall domestic sales for the period of April’15 are as follows:
·The overall sales of passenger vehicles stood up at 15.83 per cent (Passenger Cars - 18.14 percent; Utility Vehicles - 7.00 per cent; Vans - 19.69 per cent).
·The overall Commercial Vehicles segment registered a growth of 6.48 per cent (Medium & Heavy Commercial Vehicles (M&HCVs) - 24.94 per cent; Light Commercial - (-) 3.82 per cent).
·Three Wheelers sales declined by (-) 2.33 per cent (Passenger Carriers - (-) 2.68 per cent; Goods Carriers - (-) 1.05 per cent.
·Two Wheelers sales registered a de-growth of (-) 0.16 percent (Scooters - 5.38 per cent; Mopeds - 9.88 per cent; Motorcycles - (-) 2.77 per cent.
The overall exports in the month of April’15 rose by 7.66 per cent. The details are as follows:
·Passenger Vehicles- 20.87 per cen
·Commercial Vehicles - 19.87 per cent
·Three Wheelers - 79.24 per cent
·Two Wheelers - (-) 5.27 per cent
