Govindaraja Swamy Brahmotsavams begin with gaiety
The annual Brahmotsavams at Sri Govinda Raja Swamy temple in Tirupathi, commenced with religious pomp and gaiety on Monday. The ceremonious Dhwajarohanam took place in Karkata Lagnam between 9.20 am to 10 am in this ancient temple. The sacred yellow cloth with the imprint of Lord Garuda, the celestial carrier of Lord MahaVishnu, was hoisted atop the golden flag post `Dwajasthambham’ situated inside the temple complex amidst the traditional recitation of Vedic hymns by temple priests. TTD Chairman Dr Ch Krishnamurthy, Executive Officer Dr D Samba Siva Rao, JEO Tirupati P Bhaskar, VGO Ravindra Reddy, temple Deputy EO Chandra Sekhar Pillai, Hundreds of pilgrims and local devotees took part in this religious fete.
