Narayanavana temple rituals conclude
The three-day Jeernodharana programme at Narayanavanam temple concluded on Friday. The ritual was held according to Vaikhanasa Agama. A special ritual named ‘Balalayam’ was conducted on Thursday. The power of the idols in the temple was drawn into a kumbham (pot) five months earlier. On Thursday it was sent into the idols. Bala means small and Alayam is temple.
During Jeernodharana, pujas are performed to processional deities and kalasams.After the maha samprokshana, pujas are performed to the main deities. In the evening, Lord Venkateswara and his consort were taken out in a procession on the Chinna sesha vahanam.
