Indian twist to MasterChef US
An Indo-US woman has entered the sixth season of “MasterChef US,” a cooking based reality show. She is the first ever vegetarian to take part in the show.
Hetal Vasavada, 28, is passionate towards making desserts by adding twist of Indian spices such as cumin, turmeric, garam masala and many more. This makes her dessert unique with a blend of Indian and American tastes.
She passed the audition round of MasterChef US by presenting an apple pastery cup with a dash of cardamom whipped cream.
Vasavada’s interest in cooking turned into passion when she was studying at the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia, where most of the students were Indian and wished for home cooked Indian cuisine food. She began cooking for her friends and other students in her dormitory.
The lady aims at establishing her own cookie business and even wishes to conduct consultations regarding various recipes and the potential of twisted recipes to add as success to a business venture.
The current season started on May 20. There are totally 22 finalists who have cleared the audition round, Vasavada is one among them. The judges for the season are the world’s most famous chefs including Gordon Ramsey.
