Finally Gujjars call off strike!
Rajasthan government has accepted to allocate 5% reservation to Gujjar community in the government run institutions and accordingly a bill will be introduced in the state assembly.
The solution to the long pending issue came a day after the High Court of Rajasthan had flayed chief secretary and DGP of the state.
Gujjar leaders held discussions with Parliamentary Affairs minister Rajendra Singh that lasted for four hours. Firstly, the state cabinet will approve the bill and will send it to the state assembly. As the bill gets Assembly nod, it will be sent to the 9th schedule.
Gujjar form 7% of total Rajasthan population and were demanding reservation since 2006.
