Baking India, over 1826 dead

This summer season the nation has been baking under sweltering heat with temperatures topping at 43-46 degrees in many parts of our country.

The death toll due to heatwave has touched 1826, according to reports on Thursday.

The figure has peaked at devastative proportions in Andhra Pradesh with over 1334 deaths. The toll in Telangana stood at 440.

Besides the Telugu states, the scorching temperatures prevailed in other states too. Around 43 deaths have been reported in Odisha, 2 in Delhi and 7 in Gujrat.

The Indian Meteorological department has forecasted that the heatwave might continue for the next two days.

According to IMD, the blazing temperatures will continue over areas of Adilabad, Nizamabad, Karimnagar, Warangal, Khammam, Mahabubnagar and Nalgonda districts, and would continue for the next two days.
