Storm batters Texas
Hundreds of people in Texas were ordered to evacuate from the flood threatened areas on Wednesday. The storms bringing torrential rains in this week have battered the state, left 15 people dead including 6 in Houston.
People are advised to stay away from more than 200 homes in Parker County, where the Brazos River was poised to spill its banks about 30 miles west of Fort Worth on Wednesday night, county officials said.
Parker County Judge Mark Riley stated, "The river is coming up fast and flowing at dangerous volumes."
The death toll in Texas is expected to rise, with about a dozen people still missing and a new round of thunderstorms assailing the already flood-hit cities of Houston and Austin.
