The Telangana state government is under severe pressure to keep up its electoral promise of 12 per cent reservation to the Muslim and STs Communities.

The government has appointed two commissions to estimate the socio-economic and educational status of Muslims and STs for implementing 12 per cent quota. Meanwhile the Muslims and ST organisations want to take up the recruitment drives in government sector only after a clarity arrives on the matter.

According to highly placed sources, Telangana government might follow Tamil Nadu's style which allows 50 per cent quota on reservations for all categories prescribed by the Supreme Court.
