In a shocking incident, three policemen were arrested for allegedly raping a 29-year-old model inside a police station in Mumbai.

City Police Commissioner Rakesh Maria on Thursday said that seven people including three policemen and a woman were arrested by the Mumbai crime branch in the matter. Charges of rape, sexual harassment and extortion were slapped against the accused, the Police Commissioner added.

Maria said that the arrest took place, after the model met him in his office on Wednesday and narrated about the tragic incident, which occurred when the cops forcibly took the victim to the police station in Sakinaka in Andheri in the western part of the city, and raped her in the night.

Reportedly, the victim accompanied by a male friend had gone to a five-star hotel to attend an audition for a film on March 3, where they were forcibly taken by three cops and their accomplices in a police vehicle. The accused also extorted Rs 4.5 lakh and golden jewelry next morning, to release her from the police custody.
