Indian Embassy in Yemen shifted

The Union government informed the Lok Sabha on Monday that the Indian Embassy in Yemen was shifted to Djibouti due to war conditions in the country. External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj said in a suo muto statement that Indian Embassy will continue its operations from the new place till situation return to normalcy in Yemen’s capital Sana.

The minister also added that about 6,688 people were evacuated from Yemen till April 18 under difficult circumstances. She also praised Minister of State for External Affairs Gen (retd) V.K. Singh, who personally supervised the evacuation efforts.
