A case of murder and abduction, under Section 302 IPC, has been filed in the controversial encounter of 20 alleged red sanders smugglers in the forests of Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh.

The FIR was registered following a complaint lodged by wife of one of the persons killed in the encounter. She has pleaded that post mortem of the bodies of the deceased should be conducted again.

Speaking to reporters, the lawyer for the purported encounter, K Raghunath said, "Tomorrow, there will be arguments on to whether a re-post-mortem needs to be ordered or not. And, before that the Court said to bring the autopsy report, so that they can go through that. Whether the allegation made are true or not will be seen tomorrow.”

He also said that they have made a demand to the court that investigation of this case should be handed over to an independent agency like CBI.
