Germany's Nobel laureate Gunter Grass, who is considered to be the country’s most well-known writer, passed away on Monday.

He was 87. "The Tin Drum,” "Cat and Mouse” and "Dog Years” are some of his most famous works.

Gunter’s works mostly revolved around political conditions and social upheaval. He was not only a novelist, but also a poet, sculptor and designer who sometimes designed the covers of his books.
