Karnataka High Court has acquitted former Tamil Nadu chief minister J Jayalalithaa and four others in connection with disproportionate assets case.

With this decision Jaya can return as Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, which has led to a mood of jubiliation among the AIADMK workers, who are celebrating this moment in Chennai.

The Karnataka High Court has squashed a Bengaluru trial court's judgment which sentenced Jayalalithaa to 4 years in jail and slapped a fine of Rs 100 crore. However, it could have been a tough for Jaya and her political career, if the court had convicted her.
