Tamil Nadu Chief Minister O Panneerselvam has written a letter to Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu regarding the Chittoor district’s red sandal encounter.
In the encounter that occurred in Sheshachalam forest of Chittor district on Tuesday morning, 20 men suspected to be red sandal smugglers were killed. However, it was later found that they were actually agricultural labourers from Tamil Nadu.
The Tamil Nadu chief minister stated in the letter that the encounter was in violation of human rights and a proper investigation should be carried out regarding this matter.
He said that if the Andhra Pradesh chief minister also felt that this incident was in violation of human rights then he should take strict action against those involved in it.
