An international team of researchers has discovered an elusive new bird with a distinctive song in China. The new bird, the Sichuan bush warbler, shunned the limelight so far by hiding in grassy, scrubby vegetation over the years.

However, its distinctive song eventually gave it away, said one of the researchers Pamela Rasmussen, professor at the Michigan State University. "The Sichuan bush warbler is exceedingly secretive and difficult to spot as its preferred habitat is dense brush and tea plantations," Rasmussen noted.
