The High Court of Hyderabad has dismissed the circular issued by Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University [JNTU] over the selection of faculty in the engineering colleges. According to the new circular generated by JNTU, all engineering colleges should have one of the University’s nominees in the selection committee while selecting the teaching staff.

However, the engineering colleges belonging to minority communities approached the High Court and filed writ petitions, claiming that JNTU is interfering in the administration of minority institutions which is against the Constitution. Considering the petitions, the court issued interim orders in this regard. The court has adjourned the case to Monday and asked the respondents to file counter affidavit.
