India lags better infrastructure at border

The Parliamentary Standing Committee on defence said, India lags better infrastructure at border when compared to China and expressed dismay over the plans to develop infrastructure all along the border. Defence minister Manohar Parrikar will be visiting northeast on Saturday where issue of border between India and China is maximum. Parrikar will also reach Tawang which the flashpoint of the two countries.
 
The Border Road Organisation [BRO] which had been assigned the task of construction 61 roads along the line of actual control [LAC], so far completed only 19 while continues to miss the deadlines set. The Parliamentary committee said, BRO faced shortage of manpower, vehicles and machinery, so it used to miss the deadline.
 
The Ministry of Defence which controls BRO says it will complete at least 16 roads this year and hopeful to finish the rest on time.
