Andhra Pradesh cabinet has decided to have Amaravathi as state capital.

The actual Amaravathi town is 35 kms away from the place, where the capital city is being planned. Approximately, 33000 acres have been procured through land-pooling scheme by the government for the capital.

Hyderabad will remain the capital of both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana for 10 years, according to the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act, 2014.
