AP, TS students continue winning streak in JEE Mains

Andhra Pradesh and Telangana students have continued with their good performance in the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) - Mains, which is quite visible in its results announced on Monday.
K Nagendra Reddy of Nellore and B Vidyasagar of Srikakulam topped the exam by scoring 340 out of 360 marks each, followed by R Nihaar Chandrah from Guntur who secured 336 marks. This year, more than 50 students from the AP and Telangana have scored over 300 marks, according to statistics.
K Anirudh Reddy from Film Nagar topped the chart in Hyderabad city, securing 335 out 360 along with three other students, M Sandeep Kumar, Garlapati Sreekar and Bedapudi Vamsi, all hailing from Andhra Pradesh. However, all the JEE toppers had appeared for the examination from Hyderabad. Experts say over 5,000 students from the twin states might have qualified the JEE Mains. IITs currently have about 21 per cent students who hail from both states, they added. More than 13 lakh students had appeared for the mains examination across the country.
JEE (Advanced) will be held on May 24 for the successful candidates who managed the cut-off. They have to register online for from May 2 to 7 to appear for the JEE (Advanced).
