Labourer's son joins Japanese university

Abhishek Gupta, a daily wage labourer's son from Gurgoan bagged full scholarship from the University of Tokyo for studies.

Gupta was a student of the Patna's Super 30 coaching institute that trained poor students into prestigious IIT's in India.

Abhishek Gupta is the son of Dilip Gupta, a generator operator working in Gurgaon.

Gupta's  four year full scholarship covers his entire expenses for four years, which includes tuition fees and other expenses, apart from accommodation.

Earlier, university officials visited the Super 30 institute and invited its founder and mathematician, Anand Kumar to Japan. They also agreed to sponsor one student of the institute into the university, said a jubilant Kumar, adding that it was a proud moment for the institute.

Abhishek would be joining the International Program offered by the Environmental Sciences at College of Arts and Sciences, Komaba, under the Kikuchi-UTokyo Scholarship program.
