UPSC: Tamil Nadu students poor show

Performance of Tamil Nadu students in the recent UPSC exams has raised many eye brows.

Only 263 students from the state have qualified the UPSC test out of the total 3,308 candidates, who wrote the exam and would be finally called for the interview.

Last year 267 candidates from the state qualified for the personal interview.

Their poor show in UPSC would lead to lesser number of selections and interviews for the students from Tamil Nadu, say the experts, adding that change in exam pattern pattern was the major reason behind the poor show.

Though there are about 1,300 vacant posts available this year, only 200 would be filled now.
