Lack of funds has affected the smooth functioning of the Telangana State Council of Higher Education. Though the educational council came into existence than six months ago, practically nothing has been done ever since its inception, after the bifurcation of the state.

All it has done, in recent time, was to hold some committees on the syllabus revision. A cash-trapped TSCHE, was facing some deep financial crisis, with a mere grant of of Rs. 93 lakh from the government.

Officials said, the grant was only enough to meet the salaries of the staff.

The TSCHE reportedly wrote to banks asking them to freeze APSCHE accounts.

Currently, the two councils are engaged in a pitched battle over Rs. 120 crore worth bank deposits. If the division is done, the TSCHE is expected to get Rs. 58 to 60 crore, if the two councils are divided in 58:42,as suggested earlier.
