TSRTC to buy 1200 new buses
Transport Minister P Mahender Reddy on Saturday said that TSRTC will soon get 1200 new buses to offer improved services.
Presenting RTC regional awards as part of RTC Security Week celebrations here, he said that the government is extending a helping hand to the RTC to tread on benefits. Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao announced Rs 700 cr to the TSRTC to tide over the crisis and taking all steps to get it new fleet of buses he maintained. He also said that the government will set up modern training centres for drivers in every district. It was estimated to cost Rs 50 cr for the purpose he said. The Transport Minister expressed hope that the drivers will be cautious against accidents while shifting the passengers to their destinations on time.
RTC Hyderabad zonal executive director D Venu said that 1100 buses would be plied to cater to the needs of Krishna Pushakarlu to be conducted in Mahabubnagar and Nalgonda districts from Aug 12 to 23. As part of elaborate arrangements the RTC would ply 200 buses from Warangal, Nizamabad districts and 900 buses from Hyderabad, Mahabubnagar, Medak and Ranga Reddy districts for the pushakarams.
