KCR fiat against cross-voting
Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on Friday put to rest doubts within the party circles on the victory of fifth candidate in the ensuing Council elections by saying, “Wait and watch, we are winning.” Speaking at the 90-minute TRSLP meeting, the chief minister asked party MLAs not to leave the city and participate in the voting.
He warned MLAs not to indulge in cross voting. The TRS leaders under the leadership of KCR discussed the strategy to be adopted in the council elections. According to sources, the Chief Minister is said to have assured the MLAs that the fifth candidate would win. “There is no doubt. We are going to win. You will see it,” he said at the meeting.
The TRS is slated to win four seats on their individual strength and it would have to depend on other parties for ensuring the victory of the fifth candidate. The party is banking on cross-voting from other party MLAs. The CM said that several people-friendly policies of the government had encouraged at least 10 MLAs to join hands with the party and a few more were eager to join the party.
The party is planning to conduct a mock poll at Telangana Bhavan for TRS MLAs as many of them are new.
