Naidu named as prez of TDP central committee
Andhra Pradesh chief minister and TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu was unanimously elected as the president of the party’s central committee on Friday on the third and concluding day of Mahanadu at Gandipet.
Naidu was unanimously elected for the position, convener of the party’s Election Committee Kala Venkata Rao.
Only Naidu’s name was proposed in the 30 sets of nominations filed during Mahanadu on Thursday. Many TDP leaders from both the Telugu states proposed and seconded Mr Naidu’s name, including the Chief Minister’s brother-in-law and Hindupur MLA Nandamuri Balakrishna, Kala Venkata Rao, government chief whip K Srinivasulu, Telangana TDP leaders L Ramana and Errabelli Dayakar Rao.
The Mahandu approved a resolution favoring changes in the party’s constitution on Thursday, which facilitated the formation of the central committee.
